Our approach to working with children during the Coronavirus epidemic
The potential impact of the Coronavirus epidemic is of concern to everyone. We wanted to reassure you that the health and wellbeing of the children we work with and those of our staff is the highest priority for us at ComputerXplorers Cambridge and Chelmsford.
We love sharing our excitement about the world of technology with all of the children in our classes and we are working hard to continue to share that in whatever way we can. Whether that is working with schools who continue to look after Key Workers' children or by delivering classes online we are committed to keeping the tech excitement alive!
Support for schools caring for Key Workers' children during the COVID-19 epidemic
ComputerXplorers Cambridge and Chelmsford can come in to your school and provide fun and educational computing and technology sessions on your premises to groups of key workers’ children you are continuing to care for.
These are extraordinary times and call for everyone to work together to ensure the whole community weathers the storm. We want to do our part and are reducing the cost of our service to schools to ensure it is affordable for schools in the current unprecedented situation
Who are ComputerXplorers?
- We are a local organisation, working across Cambridge, Ely, Newmarket, Haverhill, Saffron Walden, Great Dunmow, Bishop’s Stortford, Royston, Buntingford, Braintree, Harlow, Brentwood, Epping and Chelmsford, who are specialists in computing and technology classes for children from 3-13.
- We work with a large number of schools in the area providing workshops, in-curriculum time classes, computing clubs etc.
- We cover all areas of tech from creative animation to robotics, coding and physical computing.
- We are DBS (or Disclosure Scotland) checked.
After School Tech Clubs - Coronavirus/COVID-19
Following the government announcement on March 18th 2020 to close schools on March 20th we are unable to provide our face to face After School Tech Clubs. We are liaising with the schools we work with and responding, where necessary, to the evolving situation.
We are looking forward to the day (in the not too distant future!) that we will be back in all of our regular schools with some more great computing clubs.
In the meantime, why not try our virtual tech clubs with our online classes.
Our online sessions are delivered live in small groups by our fab team of expert tech leaders so your child has all the input and interaction they need.
All you need at home is an internet connection and a laptop/desktop.
Easter Holiday Computing Camps - Coronavirus/COVID-19 - moving online
Our planned Easter Holiday Computing Camps will unfortunately not be able to go ahead as planned but we are delighted to be able to move them online. Our live virtual camps will be as fun and engaging as our usual face to face camps.
We know from the recent feedback from parents that everyone is keen for their children to be active and engaged in this unexpectedly long school break!
If you would like more information in the short-term please do contact us direct.
We are, of course, keeping the government guidance under review and will adapt to any new requirements.
